Medieval
General Aspects:
Patriarchal, conquerors, man-made laws, speaking, discipline, duality, antithesis
Description:
The WHEEL OF FORTUNE spins endlessly around and around. A man and a woman swirl on it and another baby is born to be swept up onto its fixed circumference. The Gypsy JUGGLER of the pack, the mercurial Hermes, has now donned the ass's mask of anonymity. He straddles the top, hoodwinking the persons on the wheel. He offers them either the temptations of possessions and power on earth, as symbolized by the ball in his right hand, or the choice of the intuitive wand in his left, which will give them a new opportunity to get off the wheel.
Interpreted use:
The only way off the wheel is by breaking your habitual rounds.
Reversed (card received upside down):
You are literally on the WHEEL OF FORTUNE; striving always for more of everything.
